The flanges 8, 9 are folded down and heat-sealed to flanges 10 as shown in Fig. 5 so that no cut edge is in contact with the contents of the carton and the fold projecting inwardly of the carton top engages a portion 15 of a lid 14. A flange 13 on the lid may be heat-sealed or glued to flange 8. The lid may be vacuum formed from thermoplastic foil. Specification 1,500,304 is referred to. |
