The pressing means 150, Fig. 3, comprises a main portion 162 including side guides 170, 172, Fig. 5, which engage slots 174, 176 in a pad member 152, which has extensions 154, 156, Fig. 4, projecting forwardly of the front of the pile on either side of the stop surface 130, a spring 160 urging the member 152 towards the surface 130 so as to maintain contact therewith as the means 150 moves up and down according to the height of the pile. The portion 162 is pivoted at 165 and can be raised by a handle 162 for insertion of a new pile. |
