<p>The mechanism consists of a piston which can slide over a central shaft. The piston is held in position by means of a return spring. The face of the piston is fitted with clutch jaws which can engage a pin and rotate the shaft in its bearings. The piston is operated by hydraulic pressure fed through the passage. The hydraulic fluid is supplied through the inlet passage, and is fed to a slide valve furnished with cross passages. This allows the oil to be supplied to either end of the slide valve and thus control the motion of the piston.</p> |
