<p>The quality of prod., esp. cement clinker fired and sintered in a rotary skin is controlled by measuring the intensity and/or the frequency of noise emitted by the satellite cooling region and controlling an operating parameter such as the rate of feed of fuel according to the measurement obtd. Specifically, the fuel flow is increased when the noise level drops below a given threshold. The method is more reliable than measurement of kiln with an optical pyrometer, which suffers from obscuring of vision by dust.</p> |
