A foamed ointment in film form is new. The ointment is an oil-in-water emulsion, of low water content, contg. (a) a fatty phase, (b) water, (c) emulsifier, (d) a film-forming substance (e) a humidifier and (f) the therapeutically active substance. It is used for wound dressings and beauty treatment, e.g. face masks. Similar ointments in film form are known (DT 2012775). By foaming the ointment the following advantages are obtd: drying time is lessened; the superficial mass is lowered; the ability to absorb liqs. is increased; the film is more flexible, and so fits the body shape better; prodn. losses are lower. An ointment was prepd. from the following: fatty phase-3 pts. vaseline (RTM), 5 pts. ketostearyl alcohol, 1 pt. polyglycol-fatty alcohol ether; aqueous phase-2 pts. methyl cellulose, 1 pt. polyvinyl pyrrolidone, 6 pts. glycerine, 2 pts. active substance 80 pts. water. An emulsion was prepd. air beaten in to form a foam, and the foam laid on release paper. Water was evaporated to give a foamed ointment in film form.
|
