To provide a robust, simple-to-operate plug connection which is reliable even when contaminated, the parts of which are not easily lost even in the released state, the plug connection is designed as follows. It has two connecting elements, a nipple (1) and a socket (3). The socket (3) has a bore (9) to receive the nipple (1). The nipple (1) has recesses to receive a resilient nipple lock (2). The latter engages at the end of the socket (3) in a hook-shaped groove. In order to release the nipple lock (2), a ring (6) is provided on the nipple (1), which ring (6) is axially movable towards the nipple (1) and covers at least the end, facing the nipple, of the connection socket (3) and, by movement towards the socket, presses the resilient nipple lock (2) towards the nipple axis and releases the nipple lock from the hook-shaped groove of the socket (3).
