Crane with closed circuit television - has camera mounted at top of crane jib to view load

In a conventional crane operation the operator is seated in vibrating cab and does not have clear vision of the load so that a second operator with a telephone connection to the cab is required to help. In this arrangement a closed circuit T/v camera is mounted at the top of the jib (3) near the pulley wheel. The camea tube (8) is attached to a bearing (15) with a spindle in a horizontal plane and parallel to the axle of the pulley block. The bearing is supported by a yoke (17). The longitudinal axis of the camera tube is almost vertical, to focus on the load, typically part of a wall construction. An oil damping arrangement is included, the viscosity of the oil remaining substantially constant over a temp. range from -30 deg.C to +100 deg.C.
