<p>Device for dispersing a vaporisable material at a predetermined rate, by vapour diffusion through a stagnant gas layer, comprises an elongated capillary tube of predetermined length and cross-sectional area. The tube is closed at one end and contains the vaporisable material and an overlying stagnant gas layer. The device can be used to dissipate insect attractants (esp. pheromones) and/or insecticides, or air fresheners, or therapeutic agents (e.g., antihistamine inhalant prepns). Tubes with one sealed end give much lower release rates than conventional tubes with both ends open.</p> |
