The track removal, transport, and haying wagon has a longitudinal girder supported between end bogies. Hydraulic jacks at each corner raise the wagon from the ground. The girder (2) supports spare tracks and a mechanism with two swinging arms (15,16) hinged at the base of the girder, and two hydraulic rams (18,19) each hinged at the top of the girder and to an arm. The wagon rests over existing track and is jacked up. Expanding jaws (20) clamp the rails and the arm swings through 90 deg. to the right. The new track is positioned in place of the old by the second arm swinging from a vertical position through 90 deg. to the horizontal.
