Funicular equipment cleaning system - uses rotary tool with cutter at end through which rope is hauled

The system automatically cleans funicular equipment, particularly the ropes of endless transporters used for painting, plastering or other spraying equipment. A sliding tool (2) with a cutter (3) at one end is fitted over the rope (7), and is rotated at the same time as the rope is drawn through it, so as to peel off the layer of material (7') deposited on the rope. The tool can have an axial drilling through which the rope passes, also a larger-diameter cylindrical portion with vanes to allow its rotation by a compressed-air jet. The latter can be accommodated between the arms of a U-shaped piece fitting round the tool end faces to hold it in position.
