<p>The book binding installation for blocks of paper sheet uses a self-adhesive band unwound from a roll along a straight guide. The adhesive band is supported by the guide when the spine of the book block is pressed against the adhesive band. A table is positioned opposite to the guide taking the block and is adjustable parallel to the guide, with it's largely horizontal, level support plate above the surface of the adhesive band so that a block pushed over the support plate presses with it's spine against the centre of the adhesive band, the guide then extends only over the width of the table. The table is adjustable from a start stop by the length of the spine up to an intermediate stop and when in that latter position a separating knife transverse to the adhesive bank immediate stop into a position in which the spine of the block being processed lies opposite to the slot between a pair of pressure rollers into which the block is pressed by forward movement over the support plate.</p> |
