Device for adjusting the alignment of an induction heater is described employed to anneal the welded seam on a pipe. The novelty is that the inductor is located in a housing fitted with two pivot mountings for a pair of levers which form part of a parallelogram lever mechanism which includes telescopic rods. The telescopic rods are mounted on a bearing driven up or down a vertical pillar to adjust the height of the lever mechanism; and one telescopic rod is moved by a motor-driven spindle actuated by a photocell scanning a mark on the welded pipe. The device can be used shortly after making the weld. If the position of the weld devices from a nominal point, the inductor automatically follows the deviations so it is always aligned on the weld.
|
