The assembly is used for mixing by combining a liq. in the syringe with a second material in the container, the nozzle of the syringe being attached to the stopper of the container. The stopper has a passage connecting the syringe chamber with the interior of the container, and the passage is initially blocked inside the container by an interference fit bung and on the syringe side by the syringe nozzle operation of the syringe to discharge liq. automatically expels the bung from the stopper so that liq. mixes with the second material in the container to provide an injection ready to be sucked back into the syringe. The nozzle should not meet the bung. The assembly is used inside the stopper for preparing a medical injection which has to be mixed just before being injected. It is of simple, inexpensive construction and is easily operated at high speed without special training. Sterility is assured and the assembly is disposable after use.
