The fluid level indicator uses moving floats which operate with low friction and are virtually unaffected by fluid movements with can cause intermittent operation in some level indicators. Three spherical floats (11) mounted at 120 deg. intervals on a rectangular slider (12) move vertically on a double tube column (13-14) which supports the inductor scale (19). Three sides of the rectangular slide carry permanent magnets partially enclosing one of the tubes. A suspended follower magnet running on rollers inside the tube follows the vertical movement of the external magnets and operates the indicator pointer via a pulley cord. The second hollow tube carries a suspended counterweight which also operates via a cord drive to balance the weight of the suspended magnet.
