Bottle washer with superposed feed and discharge - transports bottles in peripheral pockets of disc drums counter:rotating at different rates

The bottle washer comprises superposed counter rotating feed and discharge units with pockets to carry the bottles through the machine positions. Bottle feed (3) and bottle discharge (2) are effected by counter rotating continuous disc type drums with peripheral recesses as conveying pockets (18a, 26a) for the bottles (4a, 4c). The discharge drum (12, 13, 18) has more pockets than the feed drum (23, 27, 22b) and revolves at an appropriately lower rate. Bottle guide rakes (17, 25) reach in between the drum discs (12, 18, 23, 26) at the feed unit outlet (22, 27, 22b) and the discharge drum inlet (12, 13, 18). The discs forming the drums are thin sheet stiffened by corrugations.
