The rotary-wing aircraft with two rotors has one (78) in the form of a conventional fixed-blade propeller, the other (124) in the form of a helicopter rotor. The former is directly driven, the latter through reduction gearing (54) embodying a freewheeling device, and a friction clutch, permitting either rotor to continue turning if the other is stopped. The rotor blades are flexibly connected to the driving sleeve, co-axial with the drive shaft. For control, they are joined by a system of links (136, 140) to the top of an annular disc free to tilt around the driving sleeve. A U-section ring around the periphery of this disc, fixed to the top of the cabin roof by a stiff bu flexible sleeve, acts as a journal-cum-thrust bearing in transmitting the movements of the single control lever (30) which extends down into the cabin.
|
