A support leg or crutch has a hand grip and a lower arm section support piece, with a load gauge (17). It measures the load exerted upon the legs of people who are partially physically handicapped in their walking ability or who are partially unable to stand properly. The instrument (17) is attached to the load measuring device, which is built into the leg of the crutch (1b, 1c). The exerted load may be accurately displayed and read off as required.
