Combustion device for granular or lumpy material which may be simultaneously thermally processed and transported, in partic. for combustion of waste materials. A burner chamber with a built in after burner zone, is constructed such that the burner chamber floor is of ribbed or corrugated form when seen in section. A feed conveyor with hollow drive shaft and paddle arms and/or spiral blades is mounted within the trough of the burner chamber floor. Holes for inlet of combustion are positioned in the chamber floor trough.
