<p>The cable shoe is bored at its outer end to retain and end section of the cable insulation. The connection is provided by compression of the insulation and the surrounded cable cores. The wall (6) of the cable shoe bore (7) has a holding and sealing element (2, 8) which can engage the insulation (5) of the cable shoe (1) in the region of the end section (9), when the cable shoe sleeve (4) is compressed. Preferably the holding and sealing element is formed by an annular groove round the periphery of the cable shoe bore. Alternately the element may be provided with circular ribs, tapered in the direction of the bore inside, the ribs being defined by recesses in the cable shoe bore.</p> |
