Flat notched key for cylinder lock - has inclined notch faces and longitudinal rib preventing its copying

The cylinder lock is used for operating with a flat key. The key shank has on its narrow edge locking notches which engage with the tumbler pins when the key is inserted into the lock channel. The key cannot be copied with available key copying machines. The longitudinal central plane of the key channel in the lock is inclined at an angle to the longitudinal plane passing through the axis of the tumbler pins. The locking notch base faces (18) are inclined in transverse direction of the key at acute angle alpha to the key shank longitudinal plane. Hence the distance of the notch base faces (18) from the key back (19) is greater than the corresponding distance to the other key edge F2.
