<p>A flameproof cable gland with tension relief has the inlet section (3) and the section (1) joining onto the appliance screwed together, each having a hexagonal part (1a, 3a) to facilitate tightening. A locking piece (6) spans flats on both hexagons, and bolts onto the inlet part, secured by screws (7) having specially formed heads (7a) set in recesses (6a). The heads are turned by a special key. The tension relief block (8) is on the diametrically opposite side of the gland to the locking piece (6). It is pulled against the cable by screws similar to those holding locking piece, and their specially formed heads (9a) are also in recesses (8b). The lower part (1) of the gland contains a compression ring to give sealing and additional tension relief.</p> |
