Built up hollow section side members for work benches - provide easily accessible ducts for supply cables using channel and top hat sections

The side members of a work bench are built up from two channel sections (8, 9). These channel sections are attached to top-hat sections (10, 11) which are held together by screws (13). The end flanges (14, 15) of the channel sections (8, 9) are covered with a moulding (16) whichis provided with slots so that it can be retained between the edges of the flanges. This form of construction provides four separate ducts into which several different electric supply cables can be installed. The cables are easily accessible either through the holes (32) or by sliding off the mouldings (16). The idea can be extended to use a wide variety of sections which are bolted together to form ducts.
