Netted fabric is formed by feeding a series of warp threads 4 over a heated ring 6 so that an adhesive coating on the warp threads becomes pliable to permit a weft thread 15 fed into contact with the warp threads on the outside of the ring to adhere to the warp threads and thereby form a net. The weft thread is fed by a carrier 14 supported on an arm 13 rotatable on a shaft 12. The resultant fabric is taken up by rollers 9 and 10 after the tube produced by feeding the warp threads over the ring has been slit at diametrically opposite sides by knives 19. The threads used may be of a plastics material, textile material, glass wool, monofibres, wire or paper.</p> |
