<p>The container door consists of two panels (5, 6) which are hinged along parallel container edges (7, 8). A crank block (17) near the hinge on the inside of each panel, provides a hinge location for two push rods (3). The opposite ends of the push rods are linked to a central slider bearing (12) which is located by a guide bar (10). Since the two door panels (5, 6) are connected by rigid linkage, they are forced to move in synchronized angular motion. As the two panels (5, 6) are always balanced due to the push rod linkage, the operating force required for opening or closing the door, is a minimum.</p> |
