<p>Prepns. consist of a soln. of a water-soluble salt of thyroxine substance and contain is not 50% water. Thyroxine substance is present in a concentration of >0.5 mg/ml., and the soln. additionally contains vitamin B12 in the same amt. as the thyroxine substance. The soln. is free from macromolecules and macro-ions. The gelling agents used in parent patent can be omitted from the formulation without adversely affecting stability, so that higher thyroxine does can be administered without the problems associated with high viscosity. In an example, parenteral formulation is prepd. by dissolving 120 g crystalline vitamin B12 and 120 mg sodium DL-thyroxine in 100 ml 0.9% NaCl solution.</p> |
