<p>An epoxy resin compsn. comprises (A) a liq. epoxy resin having >1 1,2-epoxy gps. per molecule and (B) a small amt. of 2-chloro-1-chloromethylethyl-2,3-epoxypropyl ether (I) as reactive diluent. (I), which is added to reduce the viscosity and permit easier application of the resin, gives the mixt. greater reactivity (when mixed with a suitable curing agent) compared to conventionally used butyl glycidyl ether. Also, in some instances one or more of the physical props. of the cured mixt. are improved, compared to resins having butyl glycidyl ether as diluent. The compsns. are used for flooring, grouting and coating.</p> |
