<p>1470920 Piezoelectric elements CHANNEL PRODUCTS Inc 26 Feb 1975 [28 Feb 1974 17 Dec 1974] 8056/75 Heading H1E [Also in Division H2] A piezoelectric high voltage generator unit comprises a piezoelectric element in which at least the non-pressure bearing surface portions are coated with viscid electrically insulating material. In the arrangements shown, a piezoelectric element 51 is mounted between an impact pin 52 and an anvil 53 in an insulating jacket 54, and is in contact with a viscid insulating material 58 having a sticky or tacky quality. The material 58 may be an uncured and unfilled epoxy resin adhesive, and may be allowed to fill any small gaps or crevices which exist in or between the abutting surfaces of the element 51 and the pin 52 or the anvil 53. An insulating bushing 55 acts to centre the element 51 within the jacket 54. A further arrangement (Fig. 5, not shown), includes two piezoelectric elements (61, 62) and a viscid insulating material (73). Squeeze-type pressure application is also envisaged for the piezoelectric element (5).</p> |
