A charging circuit for nickel/cadmium batteries has a series transistor in the path of the charging current, tripped into its saturation or blocked state, depending on whether a test voltage, a function of the battery voltage and applied to the threshold switch, exceeds an upper threshold, or does not reach a lower threshold. The threshold switch (22) has a differential amplifier (25). The reference value signal (Um) and the upper threshold signal (Uv) are applied to the input of the differential amplifier. The input to the differential amplifier is an equalising signal and connected to the input is a resistor (26) a diode (27) and a transistor (28) forming a feedback path, so that when the reference signal equals or exceeds the upper threshold signal, the equalising signal is reduced.
|
