New cpds. are of formula (I) (where R1 is H, 1-6C alkyl, or phenyl opt. substd. by halogen, 1-6C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy or NO2; R2 and R3 are H, 1-10C alkyl, 1-6C alkoxy, 1-6C alkylthio, halogen or NO2, or together form a naphthalene ring with the benzene ring; R4 is 1-6C alkyl, 3-6C alkenyl or alkynyl, or a phenyl or 7-10C phenylalkyl opt. ring substd. by halogen, NO2, CF3 or 1-6C alkyl or alkoxy; and X is O, S or NH). (I) and their acid addn. salts have antimycotic activity against pathogenic yeasts and fungi, e.g. Candida albicans, Aspergillus niger, Trichophyton spp., Microsporon gypseum, Penicillium notatum and Sporotrichum schenkii. In an example, 2,4-dichlorbenzyl 2- 1-(1,2,4-triazol-1-yl)butyl phenyl ether is prepd. from 1- 2-(2,4-dichlorobenzyloxy)phenyl butanol and 1,2,4-triazole.
