The tampon for absorption of body fluids has an inner material in the form of a sandwich structure with an amount of absorbent gel material (32) located between two carrier layers (5, 6), and is enclosed in a sleeve-like bag. At least one of the two carrier layers is permeable to liquids. The layer of gel material is protected against any risk of gel particles falling out by at least two material layers, i.e. a layer of carrier material and a layer of the outer bag material prevent this. The arrangement chosen provides a better hold for the entire structure on use in that gel and carrier form a better structural unit during use. <IMAGE> |
