The vat is covered by a press consisting of a piston which can move vertically in the vat. The piston is supported on a frame with vertical and horizontal members. The piston is operated by the hydraulic jack mounted above the frame. The jack is operated from the hydraulic system. The vat is fitted with a discharge valve at the lower end and is mounted on a central rail and side guides. The piston has a sealing ring pressurised from an independent air or hydraulic supply.
