The sound insulation material is for deadening noise in the passenger space of vehicles. The material comprises a first long layer of material which is folded to form a series of pockets or cushions, and these are then filled with liquid. A second layer of material is then put over the first, and sealed to it, thus holding the fluid in a regular pattern of pockets over the whole sheet. The liquid may be water, or sand may be used instead.
