1492206 Tamper proof screws SOC INDUSTRIELLE DE BREVETS ET D'ETUDES 14 Nov 1975 [15 Nov 1974] 47087/75 Heading F2H [Also in Division F1] The idling fuel flow or the minimum opening of a carburetter throttle valve 3 is prevented from being adjusted by fitting a cap 17 on the head 11 of the idling adjustment screw 8 or the throttle stop screw (8a), Fig. 4 (not shown). The cap is moulded of a polyamide, polyurethane, polyacrylate or phenolic material and has internal projections 18 which engage the head 18, when the cap is pushed on to the screw 8, to permit rotation of the screw by a tool inserted in a slot 20. When the cap is pushed further onto the screw the projections 18 are received in a groove 19 and the cap is rotatable relative to the screw. The open end of the cap may be received in a rigid plastics sleeve (30), Figs. 5 to 7 (not shown), retained abutting the carburetter body 1 by the screw locking spring 13. The cap body adjacent the end wall may have a groove (40), Fig. 8 (not shown), and slots (41) which weaken the cap so that tampering will result in detachment of the end wall. The cap may be surrounded by a sleeve (30d), Fig. 9 (not shown), having a lug (43) which is received in a bore (44) in the body 1 to prevent sleeve rotation. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,418,530.
|
