<p>1420892 Secosteroids; steroids RICHTER GEDEON VEGYESZETI GYAR RT 14 Jan 1974 [31 Jan 1973] 01628/74 Headings C2C and C2U The invention comprises dl-3-methoxy-13#- ethyl - 17# - hydroxy - 8,14 - secogona- 1,3,5(10),8-tetraen-14-one (I). It is prepared in admixture with dl-3-methoxy-13#-ethyl-9#,14α- epoxy - 8,14 - secogona - 1,3,5(10) - trien - 17 - one (II) by selective reduction of 3-methoxy-13- ethyl - 8,14 - secogona - 1,3,5(10), 9(11) - tetraene-14,17-dione with a metal hydride in alkaline conditions to give dl-3-methoxy-13#-ethyl-17#- hydroxy - 8,14 - secogona - 1,3,5(10), 9(11) - tetraen-14-one (III) in admixture with its 17α- hydroxy epimer (IV). Upon acidification III converts to I, and IV converts to II, and the mixture of I and II is separated chromatographically. dl - 3 - Methoxy - 13# - ethylgona - 1,3,5(10),- 8,14-pentaen-17#-ol acetate is prepared from I by treatment with Ac 2 O/py/benzene then p-toluene sulphonic acid.</p> |
