The parent patent describes compsns. contg. (based on polyoxymethylene) (A) 0.05-4 wt.% cpd. of formula (I) (where R1 is 1-6C alkyl; R2 is H or R1; X is n - valent 1-12C aliphatic hydrocarbyl m = 0-6; n = 2-6) and (B) 0.01-3 wt.% alkaline earth 10-20C carboxylate or hydroxide. In this addn. (B) is selected from alkaline earth salts of 2-9C aliphatic mono- di- or tri-carboxylic acids and 7-9C araliphatic or aromatic carboxylic acids, and the compsn. opt. also contains (C) 0.01-1 wt.% cpd. of formula NC-NH-C(=NH)-NC-R (where R is H, CN, 1-12C alkyl, 6-12C cycloalkyl or 6-12C aryl, (cyclo)alkyls and aryls being opt. substd. by 1-3 OH gps). Stabilisers have good resistance to solvent extraction and diffusion at high temp. and compsns. can be injection moulded to articles with smooth-glossy surfaces.
