PURPOSE:To improve the tensile strength between layers while keeping the heat conductivity and thermal expansion coefficient identical to those of the conventional 1D material by forming the composite material from the bundled body obtained by winding carbon fiber on a bundle of carbon fiber and a carbon matrix. CONSTITUTION:A carbon matrix is formed by the resin impregnation and carbonization method, CVD, etc., on the bundled body obtained by winding carbon fiber 2 on a bundle 1 of carbon fiber. Since the carbon fibers are interlaced with each other in the bundled body, the strength between the layers (in two directions x1 and y1 at right angles to the bundle 1) is increased. As the fiber bundles are arranged in the thickness direction (vertical), the heat conductivity of the C/C composite material in the direction of the carbon fiber (z1 direction) is increased, and the thermal expansion coefficient at right angles to the carbon fiber (x1 and y1 directions) is also increased. |
