<p>PURPOSE:To increase a flying distance of a ball with repulsive elasticity increased through the elastic deformation at the time of hitting the ball by setting the thickness of a club face or a face insert with a head speed serving as a reference and with the setting of the thickness to a relatively thin value. CONSTITUTION:In a golf club, thickness (t) of a club face (2) is set with a head speed, when the golf club is used, serving as a reference, and by relatively thinning a preset value of the thickness, this thin thickness part is formed into a repulsive force increasing location elastically deformed at the time of hitting a ball. In the case of a high tensile force steel-made iron club, as one example, by setting the thickness (t) of the driving iron club face (2) to 2.3mm thereafter by successively thinning the thickness (t) of the club face (2) in proportion to the head speed reduced in accordance with increasing a club number, a ball hitting surface is formed into the repulsive force increasing location by the elastic deformation.
