<p>The parent patent describes a centrifugal drier with a conical basket and a rotating shield inside the basket carrying an annular washing device mounted on its periphery. In this addn. the washing is improved to ensure uniform washing of the layer of the prod. covering the sieve, lining the basket; this is conical and rotates around a vertical axis inside a tank. The prod. to be dried rises from the bottom to the top, under the action of the centrifugal force and is deposited on the sieve. Orifices opening from circular grooves evacuate the liq. which filters through the sieve. The rotating shield carries an annular ejection space between the internal ring and the external ring. The space communicates, through circular passage with an annular ejection chamber faced with a finely perforated grid. The washing liq., projected by the nozzle, finds its way to the ejection chamber and uniformly washes the sepd. prod. The rotating shield has the same slope as the conical basket and the distance from the prod. covering the sieve is very small; very efficient and uniform washing results. The drier is notably applicable to sugar refining.</p> |
