In a device for providing economy in the use of fuels in engines and burners, more complete combustion of the fuel is obtd. by addn. of H2 and O2 formed by partial decomposition of steam by thermal excitation of the molecules by successive shock on a heated tungsten or platinum wall. Modification of the engine or burner is not necessary. About 20% fuel economic is achieved. Part of the pollutant exhaust gases, esp. CO, are removed. The device is light in wt. and occupies little space, suggesting its use in aircraft engines.
|
