A basket for storage of a plurality of bottles. The basket comprises a bottom wall (1), side walls (2a, 2b, 2c), and a handle (6), and the side walls (2a, 2b, 2c) are formed by a collapsible tube (15) of a substantially rectangular cross section. The bottom wall (1) is formed and secured to one of the end rims of the tube in such a manner that when the tube is unfolded, said bottom wall may be swung upwards and locked to one or more of the remaining side walls (2a) in the tube, whereby the tube is closed. The handle is formed by two wall portions (4a, 4b) situated on the end of the tube opposite the bottom wall (1) and comprising their respective handle openings (6). These wall portions (4a, 4b) are swingably secured along parallel rims on the tube, and they comprise an individual area substantially corresponding to the clear of the unfolded tube. As a result the wall portions (4a, 4b) may be situated in a horizontal position when the basket is to be used for storage purposes, whereby they form a sort of "pitched roof" with handle openings on top of the basket and thereby a handle. The basket is very simple and easily collapsible. In the unfolded position, the basket is so rigid that it tolerates piling on top of similar baskets. When filled, the basket is easy to transport. |
