1508258 Detergent KAO SOAP CO Ltd 16 Sept 1976 [22 Sept 1975] 38371/76 Heading C5D A detergent composition, suitable for washing for example tableware, hair, skin, and fine and delicate cloths, and which has a mild action on the skin to avoid chapping, comprises:- (A) 5-40 wt. percent of a mixture of polyoxyethylene alkyl ether sulphate salts of formula where R is alkyl having a weight average of 11-16 carbon atoms, the weight average value of n for the mixture is 1À0-2À6, with the proviso that for 0-5 wt. percent of the mixture n=0, and M is a monovalent or divalent metal ion, for example sodium, potassium, calcium, or magnesium, such that M is divalent in 15-98 wt. percent of the mixture and monovalent in the remainder, and (B), 0À1-20 wt. percent of a betaine amphoteric surface active agent of formula:- where R<SP>1</SP> is an alkyl of 8-20 carbon atoms, R<SP>2</SP> and R<SP>3</SP> are alkyl of 1-3 carbon atoms, the weight ratio of B/A being in the range 0À01/1 to 2À0/1. The balance of the composition is preferably water. Optional ingredients include solubilizing agents, for example ethanol urea, and propylene glycol, other surface active agents, inorganic and organic builders, enzymes, opacifying agents, colorants, preservatives, and perfumes. |
