<p>A process and appts. for washing a freshly-spun synthetic viscose and othe filaments continuous passing in band form through the process, or for bleaching or brightening or finishing processes, in which the filaments are given a periodic saturation of the process fluid by contact with a counter-rotating cylinder, the filament being pressed out while they are drawn from the cylinder surface. The film of finishing fluid, however is carried by the cylinder surface for removal after multicontact with the filaments to be separated into a separate vessel below the level where the filaments are fed to the cylinder. the process gives an effective saturation of the filaments with the fluid, with a min. consumption of the finishing fluid, allowing the filaments to pass through at rates of 150-200 m/min.</p> |
