The rotary pump ensures that liquid or slurry does not contact the pumping mechanism and especially its moving parts. The flexible hose used in the pump does not exert conventional extrusion action on pumping. The flexible hose is held within the pump stator against a cylindrical surface. A number of parallel shafts are arranged within the stator. Each shaft has elements in contact with hose. Each of the contacting elements has number of projections so that they come into contact with hose in succession. The shaft assembly rotates as planetary gear arrangements within the stator.
