The recorder is designed to record a waveform on paper or other recording support, and includes a recording head (1) and a developer (10). It has a paper storage magazine (14) which is positioned between the inscription head and the developer. The recording paper (20) passes into the magazine forming a number of folds. The magazine has an input slot (15) situated below the plane of the recording support when it passes directly from the inscription head (11) to the developer (10). The path of the recording paper (20) before passing over the slot (15) forms an obtuse angle with the path after passing over the slot, so as to actuate formation of a paper loop in the direction of the slot (15).
