An acoustic microphonic probe is used to measure acoustic pressures in a high temp. fluid flow. A wide range of pressures, frequencies and amplitude are accepted. A probe comprises a cylindrical acoustic attenuator with parallel faces and an acoustic condenser microphone (4) whose front face (5) comprises the sensitive face forming the variable armature. The microphone is held in place by a position piece and is thermally connected to an extender surrounded by a cover enclosed in a lead envelope (9) to attenuate transverse vibrations. Cooling fluid flows in channels (13) from an inlet pipe (16) coupled to a hollow chamber (18).
