<p>The cutting tool carrier and tool is driven by an electric motor via a gear and spindle. A toothed wheel is also connected to the pinion of the withdrawal device. During normal operation, when the spindle is driven by the motor, a shaft fitted with satellite wheels drives the flywheel in the same direction as a countershaft. When current supply on the motor fails, switch gear contained in the housing operates a magnetic brake which attracts an external wheel. The rotation of the flywheel then produces an opposite rotation of the countershaft via a wheel and satellites, resulting in withdrawal of the tool.</p> |
