A linear or rotating motor has stator windings fed with DC. It has a rotor made up of permanent magnets. The rotating motor is reversible, brushless and variable in speed. The supply to the windings is in the form of phase displaced interrupted DC, speed being dependent on the phase relationship of the DC pulses. The linear version has two windings (13,14) coaxial about the armature (12) with an auxiliary bar magnet (16) to provide a fixed rest position. The rotating motor has four windings placed symmetrically on either side of a rotor carrying four rectangular permanent magnets on the same radius as the coil pattern. The phase displaced DC pulses are generated electronically (17), the strength of the permanent magnets remains constant due to the maintainance of the field direction.
|
