<p>This is an addn. to 2450123, which described a device for moving and distributing the charge inside an electric melting furnace, using a coaxial tubular element fitted with pushers and rotated or swivelled from outside the furnace. Between the furnace casing and the tubular element is an annular cavity provided with a cover fitted with >=1 gas outlet. The tubular element is pref. conical, and the periphery of the cover pref. rests in a sand seal on top of the furnace casing. The cover forms a hood so the CO can be collected and employed for other purpose. It is not possible to use a totally enclosed furnace due to the need to stoke the charge.</p> |
