<p>Phosphorous contg. dicarboxylic acids of formula (I) are claimed, in which R is 1-8C aryl, cycloalkyl or alkyl gp. and R1 is H or Me. (I) are useful as condensants for polycondensation with diamines or diols in the prodn. of fire retardant polyamides and polyesters. (I) are prepd. e.g. by reacting the corresp. p-cyanophenylphosphine cpd. with (meth)acrylamide and hydrolysing the resulting dinitrile to the diacid.</p> |
