<p>This stamped out sheet metal fitting forms a nut which is capable of accepting type A or type B Parker screws (RTM) of the same diameter. The boss has a central hole (8) and a radial slot passing from summit to base and forms the thread of the nut. To accept different forms of screw, the edge of the hole is chamfered (7), over approximately the outer half of its depth. A peripheral deformation at the base of the nut and taking the form of a rib or turned up edge provides reinforcement and allows the fitting to be welded all around to the support plate. The fitting may be packed with a sealing compound.</p> |
